Dr. Ashish Kandhway is a distinguished literary figure, currently serving as the Director of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India Yangon in India. He is also the Chief Editor of the quarterly journal Adhunik Sahitya in India and its UK edition. Additionally, he contributes as the Advisory Editor for Sahitya Yatra, a publication from Patna, and as Associate Editor of Gagananchal, published by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. His professional journey reflects a deep commitment to the promotion of Hindi literature and culture on global platforms.
Academically, Dr. Kandhway holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Hindi, an M.Phil., and a Ph.D., demonstrating his strong foundation in literary studies. Additionally, he has diversified his expertise with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.), showcasing his multidisciplinary acumen.
As an author, Dr. Kandhway has published several notable poetry collections, including Samay ki Samadhi, Jan Gan Man, 21vi Sadi ka Aadmi, Sandhisthal, and Ganakavya, a collection of democratic poetry released in 2013. His upcoming work, Gulmohar Mera Pata, is eagerly awaited. He has also made significant contributions as an editor, overseeing collections such as Hindi ka Samarthya, Barah Satte Chaurasi, Krishna Manu: Vyaktitva evam Krititva, and Kabhi Apne Kabhi Paraye: Tejendra Sharma. His outstanding contributions have been widely recognized. He was honored with the Shri Ram Murti Srijan Ratna Samman in 2018 and the India Pride Award at the British Parliament in 2016. Among his many accolades are the Makhanlal Chaturvedi Sahitya Samman, honorary titles of Vidya Vachaspati and Vidya Sagar from Vikramshila Hindi Vidyapeeth, and the Urvashi Patrakarita Samman in 2016. He also received the Hindi Sewa Samman from the Mauritius Hindi Sahitya Akademi, along with numerous other awards from prestigious literary and cultural organizations worldwide.
In 2013, Dr. Kandhway won first prize in the International Hindi Poetry Competition, jointly organized by the Indian and Mauritius governments. His dedication to literature is further evident in his expertise in creative writing, journalism, and editorial excellence.
